Sunsets and Study Notes.
Climbed onto the roof of the old cubby, at great potential risk to my own safety, to record the lovely sunset.
Grateful for the beauty of nature [cliche alert] and pondering how we can forget so easily the beautiful things that are around us. We forget to smell the clean air, feel the sand between our toes, live in each precious moment that is ours to enjoy. We forget to say thank you, I love you, you mean the world to me. We feed the cat because we have to, we brush past the dog when it greets us at the gate with an eagerly wagging tail. We judge too quickly and forgive too slowly. We think we're above other people, we don't bother asking the names of our neighbours and hardly anyone smiles at strangers.
We live in a world that is full of discontent and suspicion. It can be a world of fear. We're afraid to be ourselves, yet we so admire those who are. We're afraid to get to know strangers, or people who are different, because we're afraid that they'll be better than us (or a serial killer.) We get wrapped up in our own lives, absorbed by our own problems, dilemmas, triumphs. I know I'm guilty of that at the moment, caught up with study. I guess we all have our own lists of priorities.
What this world needs is not a carbon emissions scheme or nuclear reactors. Everyone on this planet needs a little more love and appreciation. That's half the reason for this blog really - to remind myself to be grateful, and hopefully to encourage others to do the same. We all live in an amazing world that's changing rapidly; we are all part of the revolution. We are the future and the things that we do today, what we establish within ourselves, is what our future will be. Let's make it a beautiful one, to look forward to, yeah?
Well, this has turned into a pretty little rant. I mean all of it, though, so I hope you don't pass it off as some generic raving.
Perhaps all the studying has formed a philosophy for me?
Speaking of which, best hop back into it. Augustus won't study himself.
Tell someone you love, that you love them. Because you know, they're not here forever and no one likes regrets.
I'll leave you with my love, and hopefully something to think about.
Lise xx
