Memorial service for Grandad today, in and around the house he loved with people who loved him.
Grateful that he was, and will be, remembered as the beautiful human being he was, a good man, a larrikin, a real character and joker. "He was kindness itself" was one quote that came away from the contributions to the ceremony today.
Grateful for a beautiful little new addition to the Courtney/Lawrence menagerie - as yet unamed, this little darling was something of a last wish; Grandad had been planning to buy Grandma a new puppy prior to the events that led to where we are. A bundle of warm, furry energy, he will hopefully bring another little light into the household. The other two dogs weren't too sure of him at first but no doubt they'll all sort themselves out.
I miss you Grandad, every day. I know you are at peace and that I'll see you again, hopefully some time in the future. You're still here with us, though, I know. I love you, so much.
